RAWALPINDI: The complete records of the pe
nsion cases of at least 22 teachers have been found missing in the District Accounts Office.
The teachers concer
ned were retired from different schools under t
he provincial Education Department. These retired teachers had submitted all their documents for obtaining pe
nsion in the Accounts office, while they had also signed the written receipts.
According to sources, the teachers came
to receive their pe
nsion few days back and the administration not only refused to hand their cheques over to them but also said that their documents were not available, therefore, they shou
ld submit their documents first.
The retired teachers have voiced a strong protest against negligence of District Accounts Office saying that it would require two to three months more to prepare pe
nsion documents and this way the payment of pensions would be delayed for at least eight months.
