The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday constitut
ed monitoring teams for upcoming by-polls, s
cheduled for October 14.
According to sources, 27 team
s will monitor by-elections that will take place in 35 constituencies.
The team
s will be deployed in their assigned constituencies two days prior to the polls and stay till the tabulation of results.
Further, team
s will examine the distribution of polling equipment and training of the polling staff. On the day of the by-polls, the team
s will also review security arrangements.
Sources also said that the result transmission system (RTS) and
votes of the overseas Pakistani
s will also be monitored by the teams in addition to the process of tabulation and compilation of results. The by-election
s will be held
on October 14 in 35 constituencies of the national and provincial assemblies.
