ISLAMABAD: Around 14,628 Pakistani migrant workers were detained in jails of different countries from 2005 till 2015.&nbs
p;This was revealed in a report issued by Labour Migration from Pakistan 2015.
The report showed that around 5,171 migrant workers are detained in jail in Abu Dhabi, 400 in B
aghdad, 336 in Doha, 1,621 in Jeddah, 2, 927 in
Kuwait, 1,655 in Manama, 284 in Milan, 2,177 in Muscat, and 57 in Seoul. However there was not even
a single one was detained in Dubai.
A total of 932,051 migrant workers were stranded in the destination countries without proper documents, and 48,160 irregular migrant workers deported back to Pakistan with the support of government funds.
